Submission Policy

Guidelines

These guidelines help filmmakers prepare strong submissions and set clear expectations for how Afro Studios reviews projects for distribution consideration.

Before You Submit

  • Submit only films, series, or shorts you control or are authorized to represent.
  • Provide a complete screener, synopsis, runtime, language details, and current rights availability.
  • Use accurate cast, crew, and production metadata so buyers can evaluate the project quickly.
  • Make sure subtitles, captions, artwork, and press materials are ready if they are part of your package.

How We Review

  • Editorial fit with Afro Studios and our buyer network.
  • Technical readiness for screening, delivery, and platform packaging.
  • Clear rights position, including territories, windows, and exclusivity limits.
  • Audience potential, distinct point of view, and market positioning.

Delivery expectations

If your title moves forward, our team may request additional assets such as final masters, subtitles, artwork, stills, dialogue lists, cue sheets, and rights documentation. Delays in materials or unclear ownership can slow evaluation or pause the process entirely.

We encourage creators to submit polished screeners and a rights summary up front. Doing that usually shortens back-and-forth and gives buyers more confidence in the package.
